SPENNYMOOR MAN JAILED FOR SHARING HORRIFYING CHILD ABUSE IMAGES

Gavin Jackson, a 25-year-old from Spennymoor, County Durham, has been convicted of numerous heinous crimes involving child abuse.

He admitted to 17 offences, including making and distributing indecent images of children, voyeurism, and sexually assaulting a minor.

Court proceedings revealed that Jackson had exchanged over 9,000 messages and shared thousands of images with other offenders through platforms like Telegram and WhatsApp, some of which depicted him molesting a child he had filmed himself.

Police discovered more than 600 images of a child taken without their knowledge, including photographs showing Jackson’s own molestation of the victim.

He also recorded covert images of three men changing at a venue in County Durham.

Despite his arrest and release on investigation, Jackson continued to download and share illegal material, amassing over 4,000 child sex abuse images, some of which involved victims as young as four.

Court statements included testimony from the mother of one of the victims, who expressed devastation at her child's abuse, and men who felt 'violated' after their images were shared online.

The court sentenced Jackson to six and a half years in prison and imposed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order to restrict his future internet use and contact with children, citing his disturbing and deviant behavior, as well as his clear sexual interest in minors.
