COLEFORD MAN GIVEN SUSPENDED SENTENCE OVER CHILD IMAGE OFFENCES
A man from Coleford has been handed a suspended prison sentence after being convicted of offences relating to indecent images of children.Gary Probert, also known as “Munchie”, appeared before Gloucester Crown Court on 27 January 2025.
The court heard that Probert was involved in the making and possession of a significant number of indecent images, with material spanning Category A, B and C — the most serious classifications under UK law.
In total, the offences were said to involve over 1,000 images.
The charges relate to activity that took place between July 2021 and May 2024 within Gloucestershire.
Following proceedings, Probert received a two-year prison sentence, suspended for two years.
In addition to the suspended sentence, the court imposed strict safeguarding measures.
Probert has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for a period of 10 years and is also subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order lasting the same duration.
