GABRIEL OLAH AND SHOCKING INTRUSION IN FLINT, WREXHAM

A convicted sex offender, Gabriel Olah, who was legally prohibited from engaging in certain behaviors related to voyeurism and inappropriate contact, has found himself back in legal trouble after breaching those restrictions by unlawfully entering a woman's home in Flint.

Earlier this year, the local media, The Leader, reported on Olah’s past behavior that involved watching a private residence from outside and performing a sexual act on himself in view of a party inside the property.

At that time, those actions led to a court ruling and a substantial legal order meant to restrict his future conduct.

District Judge Gwyn Jones, during a hearing at Wrexham Magistrates Court in March, emphasized that Olah had deliberately committed the act outside the residence, which resulted in him being subjected to a seven-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

This order forbade Olah from a series of specific actions for the duration of seven years.

These included looking through windows of any private dwelling, entering or remaining on any premises that did not belong to him without the owner’s permission—including driveways and gardens—and approaching or attempting to approach women with the intent to communicate sexual remarks or gestures aimed at facilitating sexual contact.

These restrictions were intended to prevent any further risks or breaches of privacy.

Despite these legal restrictions, Olah, now 32 years old and residing on Church Street in Flint, has again come under scrutiny.

Recently, he appeared before Mold Magistrates Court in order to face sentencing after being convicted of breaching the sexual risk order, an offence that occurred last month in Flint.

Prosecutor Justin Espie outlined to the court that the latest incident unfolded when a woman living in Flint was at home watching television.

She noticed a shadow moving at her window, which concerned her.

Subsequently, a man arrived at her front door, and upon her approach, she found the door was open.

The man was standing inside her porch area.

She instructed him to close the door, which he did, stepping in after her and shutting the door behind him.

The woman expressed confusion, as she had not invited him inside.

She observed that he seemed intoxicated and identified himself as Gabriel.

He began to question her, asking if she was married and if she was 'happily' married.

She confirmed her marital status, and Olah then left, asking her not to call the police.

Initially, the woman did not perceive the situation as threatening.

However, she later shared her experience on Facebook, warning friends and family about the encounter.

She was then alerted to a news article detailing the arrest of a man who had been imprisoned for investigating nearby windows and engaging in lewd acts, which brought her additional concern.

Olah's defense lawyer, Ceri Lewis, explained that her client had been visiting a friend’s house earlier that day and had consumed a significant amount of alcohol.

She stated that Olah was disoriented on his way home and, upon noticing a light at the woman’s property, approached it.

Lewis emphasized that Olah had little memory of the encounter but expressed deep remorse for his actions.

In response, the bench, led by Chair Ceri Lewis, decided to impose a sentence of 26 weeks in custody, although it was suspended for 24 months to allow Olah to demonstrate good behavior.

As part of his sentence, Olah is required to participate in the Horizons sex offender treatment program and must adhere to a 90-day alcohol abstinence monitoring requirement.

Additionally, he was ordered to pay costs amounting to £85 and a victim surcharge of £154.

This case highlights ongoing concerns about supervised individuals with a history of sexual offenses and the importance of strict enforcement of legal restrictions meant to protect the community.
