2015: JAIL FOR LITTLE LEVER RAPIST WHO PREYED ON WIDOW AFTER SHE PASSED OUT
A man who assaulted a widow in her Little Lever home after she lost consciousness has been sentenced to prison.Fraser Langhorn was convicted of three counts of rape following his trial at Liverpool Crown Court.
The incident began when Langhorn, who was familiar to the victim, met her at a local pub for a planned drink on August 25, 2013.
After drinking together, the widow, who was bereaved at the time, invited him back to her residence.
While there, she began to feel unwell and passed out.
She later woke to find Langhorn, aged 42 and residing on Third Avenue, behind her on the sofa, removing her clothing.
Over the course of the evening and into the following morning, he raped her three times while she was unable to resist or move.
Langhorn was sentenced yesterday to a term of eight years and six months in prison.
Detective Inspector Paul Copplestone from the Serious Sexual Offences Unit commented: “This was a profoundly upsetting ordeal for the victim, and I commend her for her courage in coming forward and supporting the case.
While the sentence cannot undo what she endured, I hope it provides her with some sense of closure.”
