HARINGEY RAPIST FLORIN COZMA SENTENCED TO 17 YEARS
A 'dangerous' rapist identified as Florin Cozma, 46, of Taylor Close, was sentenced to 17 years in prison at Wood Green Crown Court.
Cozma was convicted of two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, and three counts of robbery.
The assaults involved lone female sex workers who were taken to isolated parkland areas and attacked.
Although DNA evidence was found on two victims, initial police efforts could not locate the offender.
Enquiries, including night-time interviews with sex workers in the borough, led police to Cozma.
Detective Constable Anthony Shaw stated: 'This investigation involved a dangerous individual who preyed on vulnerable lone women in the Haringey area.' Detective Chief Inspector Adam Lowe added that Cozma showed no empathy or compassion towards his victims and emphasized that 'a dangerous individual has been removed from the streets of London.'
