PERVERT 22-YEAR-OLD JAILED FOR VOYEURISM AT WIMBLEDON STATION
A pervert who tried to film a woman on the toilet at Wimbledon station has been jailed.Finlay Riley, 22, has been sentenced to six weeks behind bars after he pleaded guilty to voyeurism.
The victim and her boyfriend had been out for the day when she went to use the toilet at Wimbledon station at around midnight on May 24 last year.
She noticed Riley, wearing a distinctive red jacket, staring at her as she walked past and entered the female toilets.
After hearing the door open she saw a hand appear under the cubicle wall and then saw an iPhone with the camera facing upwards.
She left the toilet and alerted her boyfriend who was waiting outside.
He went in and confronted Riley who managed to escape.
British Transport Police (BTP) later put out an appeal with CCTV images of Riley and three people came forwards all providing his name.
When arrested Riley answered no comment to all questions asked of him in interview, but evidence including footage of him lingering outside the female toilets for 45 minutes convinced him to plead guilty.
Detective Constable Christopher Pretty said: "Riley’s actions were calculated, predatory and incredibly disturbing.
He deliberately loitered near the female toilets for an extended period of time before targeting the woman when she was vulnerable.
We take an absolute zero tolerance approach to sexual offending and immediately carried out a range of enquiries to identify him.
The public’s positive response to our media appeal was instrumental and we’re very grateful to the woman and her partner in supporting our investigation, and to everyone who came forward to assist us.
We will stop at nothing to secure justice for victims, and to keep the railway network and communities safe from such predatory behaviour."
