LONDON MAN JAILED FOR KILLING PARTNER IN BRUTAL ATTACK
At the age of 27, Felipe Lopes was found guilty of manslaughter regarding the death of his partner, Anastasia Voykina, who was 23.
The tragic event happened in a flat located in James Boswell Close, Streatham, South London, in January.
Lopes admitted to the charge of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility during a hearing at the Old Bailey in November.
The judge handed down a sentence of at least seven years and three months in prison.
In addition, a hospital restriction order was issued under Section 45A of the Mental Health Act, requiring Lopes to be detained in a secure hospital for mental health treatment before being transferred to prison to serve his sentence.
The court heard that Lopes’s actions caused Ms.
Voykina’s death, as she was beaten to death, with evidence suggesting his mental state contributed significantly to the crime.
