EUAN DAVIDSON OF KEITH SENTENCED AFTER CHILD PORNOGRAPHY INVESTIGATION IN INVERNESS
A man from Keith, named Euan Davidson, has been involved in possessing indecent images and videos of children, including a baby.
It was revealed that he used a relative’s internet connection at least once to access these materials.
In October 2019, Police Scotland received intelligence indicating that Davidson, residing at Fraser Place, had uploaded a Category A indecent image of a child on October 3, 2018.
A search warrant was executed at Davidson's home; however, a preliminary review of his electronic devices found no immediate evidence of child pornography.
The devices were subsequently sent for further analysis.
During a court appearance today at Inverness Sheriff Court, fiscal depute Robert Weir stated, “During the examination of the mobile telephone, 16 category A, B, and C indecent images of children were found.” The images were estimated to depict children aged between four and 14 years old.
Mr.
Weir also mentioned that, in addition to still images, seven videos classified as Category A and C, featuring boys ranging in age from infancy to 15 years, were discovered.
Defence solicitor Matthew O'Neill indicated that a background report would need to be prepared before any sentencing could take place.
Sheriff Sara Matheson postponed the case until May 17 and ordered Davidson to be placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
