ELGIN MAN JAILED AFTER VICIOUSLY ASSAULTING WOMAN IN CUMMING CIRCLE ROAD
A man received an 18-month jail sentence after a brutal attack on a woman.
The Inverness Sheriff Court was told that Andrew Clark, who resides in Elgin, violently kicked and stamped on her head following an earlier threat to hit her with a rock on May 14 of the previous year.
Video evidence of the assault was presented during the court proceedings.
Later that day, after police entered his residence, Clark, aged 31, threatened to cut his own throat.
Authorities had to use a PAVA spray and batons to disarm him and make him relinquish the knife.
Clark, of Hossack Drive, pleaded guilty to the serious assault on Cumming Circle, Elgin, and to a charge of threatening behaviour.
