ETHAN HEWITT FROM AYLESTONE CAUGHT IN LEICESTERSHIRE SEX SCANDAL WITH TEENAGE GIRL

In August 2021, a disturbing case emerged involving Ethan Hewitt, a 20-year-old resident of Aylestone, Leicester, who was caught in a serious criminal matter related to his interactions with a minor. Hewitt was seen grinning outside court, visibly pleased with himself, as he told friends, ‘I beat the law,’ after being spared jail time for his involvement in a sexual relationship with a teenage girl.

Hewitt had previously been under strict legal restrictions that prohibited him from contacting anyone under the age of 16, as part of an ongoing investigation into similar allegations in Leicestershire. Despite these restrictions, he initiated a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl after making contact with her on Facebook in February of that year. The court was informed that the girl’s mother was aware of their communication, which took place with her consent.

During the period of their contact, Hewitt engaged in multiple sexual encounters with the teenager. These encounters occurred while Hewitt was staying at her home for four consecutive days. Court proceedings revealed that the girl’s younger sister was sleeping in the same room where Hewitt and the girl shared a bed, raising serious concerns about the environment and the circumstances of their interactions.

The case was brought to light after a support worker assigned to Hewitt’s case overheard him making a phone call to the unnamed girl. The support worker reported hearing Hewitt speaking with two female voices, which indicated he was communicating with the girl and her mother. Police investigations uncovered messages suggesting that the girl was expecting Hewitt’s child, adding a further layer of gravity to the case.

Initially, Hewitt faced a charge of rape; however, prosecutors accepted a plea of guilty to a lesser charge of sexual activity with a child. The court sentenced him to 12 months’ detention, suspended for 18 months. The judge noted Hewitt’s mental capacity, stating he was of a ‘similar maturity’ to the girl and possessed an ‘extremely low level of general intelligence,’ which influenced the sentencing decision.

Following his court appearance, Hewitt was heard boasting to friends via phone outside the courthouse, claiming, ‘I beat the law, I beat the systems and won. I’m not going to prison,’ reflecting his apparent satisfaction with the outcome.

The court also imposed a four-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order on Hewitt and mandated that he be electronically tagged, with a curfew from 10 pm to 6 am, as part of the conditions to monitor and restrict his movements moving forward.
