ERROL ANGLIN'S DEADLY RAMPAGE IN DAVENTRY: TRAGIC MURDER OF CHRISTINE HAYE-LEVY

In December 2013, a tragic and violent incident unfolded in the quiet town of Daventry, Northamptonshire, resulting in the death of Christine Haye-Levy at the hands of her partner, Errol Anglin. Anglin, a man without a fixed address, was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 16 and a half years, for the brutal murder of Ms. Haye-Levy.

During the proceedings at Northampton Crown Court, the details of the case revealed a disturbing pattern of violence and a relationship marred by dysfunction. Anglin claimed that during a heated argument, he believed he had only used a wooden spoon, and that Ms. Haye-Levy had accidentally impaled herself on his knife as she rushed toward him. However, the jury was convinced otherwise, finding that Anglin deliberately stabbed Ms. Haye-Levy four times with a knife, leading to her tragic death.

The presiding judge, Rupert Mayo, described the attack as 'a violent attack in which you used a knife to inflict four separate wounds.' He expressed regret that Anglin was unable to control his temper, emphasizing that Ms. Haye-Levy was unarmed and did not pose a threat at the time of the assault. The court heard that Ms. Haye-Levy was discovered lying in the street outside her home, covered in blood, on December 11. Judge Mayo highlighted the dysfunctional nature of their relationship, attributing the tragic outcome to her pride and Anglin's stubbornness. The court also noted that prior to the murder, Ms. Haye-Levy had been involved in a dispute where she was allegedly struck with a glass. Nonetheless, the judge stressed that she did not threaten Anglin, and that his failure to contain his anger was the decisive factor leading to her death.

Rob Levy, the brother of the victim, was visibly distressed as the verdict was delivered, underscoring the profound impact of the tragedy on her family.
