BIGGLESWADE EX-NURSERY WORKER AND PARTNER GUILTY OF KILLING BABY
A former nursery worker, Emmanuel Turner, 33, was found guilty of murder after a trial at Luton Crown Court.Devaun Rose-Turner, their eight-month-old son, died nearly four years ago following a 'catalogue' of injuries, including multiple rib fractures, a fracture to the upper jaw, a fracture to the nasal bone, a spine fracture, and a severe stomach rupture.
Evidence indicated significant blunt force trauma, with many injuries inflicted in the last 12 hours before death.
Neighbours heard noises such as a loud thud, banging, and a baby crying shortly before Devaun died.
Turner's account suggested injuries caused by a fall down stairs and CPR attempts, but the jury rejected this.
Turner, who was off work due to Covid-19 at the time, had been living in Biggleswade and had a management degree, planning to start a real estate business.
He and Rose, who had a degree in early childhood studies and worked at a nursery, pleaded not guilty but received unanimous guilty verdicts.
Turner is due for sentencing next year.
