A trio of men has been convicted and sentenced to a combined total of 29 years behind bars following a rapid investigation by the Metropolitan Police into the brutal rape of a 14-year-old girl in London.
The suspects were detained and faced charges within ten days after the victim reported the incident.
Their convictions were read at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, 10 April, after they were found guilty in January of several serious offences, including rape, sexual assault, trafficking, and the creation of indecent images involving the young girl.
Deon Smith, 45 of New Cross Road, Lewisham sentenced to 7 years for rape.
On 27 June 2025, police responded to reports of a rape at a residence in New Cross.
The 14-year-old girl was quickly safeguarded as an extensive investigation was launched.
Thanks to persistent detective efforts and the analysis of forensic and digital evidence, arrests were made by early July, with charges following immediately.
Digital and CCTV evidence pinpointed German as the leader of the group, having targeted the girl as she walked alone through Catford.
He lured her to his flat, where he raped her, and then involved Wint, who also assaulted her.
The two men knew she was missing but chose not to assist.
Later, German communicated explicit messages with Smith, who then raped the girl at his home.
