KINROSS MOTHER FINED FOR PUNCHING AND ABUSING SON IN PUBLIC
A mother named Emma Green, who is a mother of 10, publicly shouted homophobic remarks and physically assaulted her son during a family gathering in Kinross. The incident occurred after police arrived at the party following a scuffle, where officers were speaking to Scott Green, the son of Emma Green, aged 37.
Emma Green approached her son and punched him in the head despite the police presence, then launched into a tirade of homophobic abuse.
Scott Green admitted that his mother assaulted him on December 8, 2012, specifically by punching him on the head and shouting homophobic remarks.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis commented on the case, saying: 'This was an inter-familial assault.
Had you not been so stupid as to punch your son while he was being held by police officers, nine times out of 10 this would not have seen the light of day.' He further stated, 'You simply cannot act in this way,' and sentenced Emma Green to a fine of £200 and ordered her to pay her son £100 in compensation.
