BACUP MAN CLEARED OF ASSAULT AFTER VICTIM REFUSES TO TESTIFY
A man named Elton Tudor, aged 32 and residing in Daisy Bank, Bacup, was involved in a legal case where he was accused of assault causing actual bodily harm by his former partner. The court heard that Tudor denied the charge.
The victim, Tara Stephenson, had initially reported an assault but later wrote a letter of retraction, refusing to appear in court to testify.
Due to the lack of willingness from the victim and the absence of evidence, the prosecution decided not to proceed with the case.
Tudor was ultimately acquitted after the judge recorded a not guilty verdict.
The judge also advised Tudor to keep well away from the former partner to prevent further issues.
The court emphasized that there was no history of domestic violence between the pair, and the prosecution stated they could not secure a conviction.
