DYLAN UTTLEY FROM LIVERPOOL SENTENCED FOR CRUELTY AND DRUG DEALING IN ABERDEEN AND NORTH WALES
Dylan Uttley, a known drug dealer from Liverpool, was convicted of heinous acts involving animal cruelty and drug distribution.Born on September 6, 1998, Uttley's most recent address was listed as Onslow Road, Liverpool L6 3BA.
His criminal activities came to light after a disturbing incident involving a pet dog and his involvement in the illegal drug trade.
According to court proceedings, Uttley had approached a woman in Peterhead, asking to use her residence as a base for selling drugs, a practice commonly referred to as “cuckooing.” The woman refused his request, but she left her home to stay with a friend.
When she returned the following day, she was devastated to find her home had been broken into.
The most shocking discovery was her beloved Lhasa Apso hanging from a door, which she immediately recognized as her pet.
In her distress, she smashed a window to gain entry and desperately attempted to revive her dog, but her efforts were in vain.
The neighbors heard her screams and promptly contacted the police, who responded swiftly to the scene.
The investigation led to a search of a property on Seaton Drive in Aberdeen the following month, where police officers encountered Uttley.
During the search, authorities recovered photographs of Uttley, including a selfie taken before the dog was hanged.
Eilidh Wright, a fiscal depute, confirmed that the images were taken at the scene, establishing a direct link between Uttley and the act of animal cruelty.
The court was shown evidence of the photographs, which depicted the accused and the deceased dog.
Uttley, whose address was recorded as Polmont YOI, admitted to the killing of the dog.
He also confessed to supplying controlled substances, specifically cocaine and diamorphine, during August and September of 2017.
His involvement in the illegal drug trade was further confirmed when he was caught dealing crack cocaine in North Wales, leading to an additional three-year prison sentence.
In sentencing, Sheriff Jack Brown described Uttley's actions as “singularly evil, callous and barbaric,” emphasizing the cruelty involved in the dog's death.
The sheriff also noted that Uttley was not at the lowest level of the drug supply chain, as he openly admitted to employing others to sell drugs.
Regarding the animal cruelty, the sheriff condemned Uttley's conduct, highlighting that he had taken photographs of the dog’s hanging, which compounded the severity of his crime.
Uttley's overall sentence was three years in prison for the animal cruelty and drug dealing offenses.
The court's decision underscores the seriousness with which such acts are viewed, reflecting a commitment to punishing both animal cruelty and illegal drug distribution in the region.
