DYLAN PRICE FROM BEDDAU AND PONTYPRIDD JAILED FOR PAEDOPHILIC OFFENCES IN CARDIFF

In a case that shocked the local communities of Beddau and Pontypridd, Dylan Price, a 46-year-old factory worker from King Street, Pontypridd, has been sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of multiple child sexual offences. The allegations against him, which spanned nearly a decade, involved serious accusations of inciting and engaging in sexual activities with minors. Despite his vehement denial, claiming that the accusations were false and unfounded, the jury at Cardiff Crown Court found him guilty of seven counts related to child abuse.

During the trial, Price took the stand to assert that the allegations made against him were entirely untrue. He insisted that he had never engaged in any inappropriate conduct with children and maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings. The court heard that he was cleared of six additional charges, but the seven convictions were enough to secure his imprisonment. The offences in question were committed almost ten years ago, casting a long shadow over his reputation and life.

Supporters and acquaintances who knew Price through his work at Fibre Components Ltd, located on Treforest Industrial Estate, described him as a dependable and diligent worker. His employers testified that he had started his career as a machine operator and had progressed to a supervisory role, where he was responsible for training new staff members. They described him as an outgoing individual who was easy to get along with and always willing to lend a helping hand. A relative of Price’s also spoke positively about his character, describing him as “hardworking, kind and generous.” They added, “I have absolutely never had any concerns about him or his behaviour.”

However, the narrative painted by his two young victims told a starkly different story. Their testimonies revealed a disturbing side of Price’s character, exposing the true nature of his actions. The court was presented with evidence that contradicted the positive testimonials, highlighting the severity of his crimes.

As part of the sentencing, Price, who formerly resided in Beddau, will serve half of his four-year sentence behind bars before being eligible for release on licence. Additionally, his name will be entered onto the Sex Offender Register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities. South Wales Police, in collaboration with the Crown Prosecution Service, also successfully applied for a Sexual Offences Prevention Order. This order will impose restrictions on his future contact with children once he is released from prison, aiming to prevent any potential reoffending and protect the community from further harm.
