In a disturbing case of animal neglect and cruelty, Eric and Doreen Buckley, residents of Pontypridd, South Wales, have been found guilty of keeping a large number of animals in deplorable conditions.
The couple, who lived on Tower Street in Pontypridd, were involved in a long history of animal welfare violations that culminated in a shocking discovery in 2011.
Eric Buckley, born around 1955, and his wife Doreen, who sadly passed away in 2015, had been notorious for their disregard for animal welfare.
Their history of violations dates back to 1993 when they were initially banned from keeping dogs for ten years due to previous breaches.
Despite this ban, they continued to flout animal welfare laws, and after further violations in 1995, they were permanently prohibited from keeping any animals.
Their latest transgressions came to light in 2011 when authorities uncovered their illegal animal collection at a property located in High Street, Gilfach Goch, within the Rhondda Valley.
The property was a former pub, which the Buckleys had converted into a makeshift shelter for their animals.
RSPCA officials, upon investigation, found the house to be in a state of extreme filth and neglect.
