PRESTATYN PAEDOPHILE JAILED FOR CAUSE AND INCITE SEXUAL HARM TO CHILDREN
A man from Prestatyn described as “cunning, devious and manipulative” has been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing two children.Duane Illman received a sentence of 16 and a half years in prison, along with an additional five years on license, during a hearing at Mold Crown Court.
He had previously admitted to four counts of sexual assault on a child under 13, two counts of inciting or causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual acts, one count of sexual penetration of a child under 13, and performing sexual acts in front of a child.
Prosecutor Maria Masselis outlined that one victim, Child A, was both touched sexually and forced to perform a sexual act on Illman.
The other victim, Child B, was subjected to multiple sexual touches and acts over several years.
Both victims provided statements describing the long-lasting harm caused by his abuse.
Judge Simon Mills characterized Illman as driven by a “very powerful sexual urge” towards children, which he appeared unable to control, and labeled him “predatory” and “dangerous.” The judge highlighted the manipulative nature of Illman’s conduct, emphasizing his cunning behavior.
Illman was also sentenced to be included for life on the sex offenders register and was subject to restraining orders and sexual harm prevention orders.
In his sentencing remarks, Judge Mills condemned Illman’s actions, stating that no victim should feel responsible or regret not speaking out earlier, noting that it was Illman’s own choice to act in such a manipulative and predatory way, often ensuring his victims would not disclose his actions.
