FIFE MAN DODGES JAIL AFTER THREATENING TO POST INTIMATE PICTURES
A man identified as Drew Clark, aged 25, from Dick Crescent, Burntisland, has been involved in a serious misconduct related to images of his former partner.Clark admitted to sending a compromising photograph of the woman engaged in sexual conduct to a friend and threatened to distribute further private images by printing and placing them around the towns of Lochgelly, Leven, and Glenrothes out of spite following a breakup.
The incident, which occurred between March 23 and April 11 of 2018, was addressed in Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, where Clark was sentenced to a community payback order with 12 months supervision and 160 hours of unpaid work, despite earlier warnings that he could face jail time.
Clark had previously pleaded guilty to sending an intimate photo of the woman to another individual and making threats to disclose more images to cause her fear, alarm, or distress.
He denied observing or recording her in a private act without her consent but acknowledged possessing the images, which had been taken with her consent but without her knowledge of sharing.
The court acknowledged that there was no significant sexual element to his actions but condemned his behavior as manipulative and abusive, highlighting the emotional harm inflicted on his partner.
The court emphasized the seriousness of such misconduct, noting the emotional manipulation involved, although the offense was not classified as a sexual offence requiring registration."
