DONALD KENNEDY FROM LOSSIE MOTIVES IN SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULT IN INVERNESS

A 56-year-old man from Lossiemouth, Donald Kennedy, has been sentenced to a prison term of 18 months following a series of serious criminal offenses that took place in December 2023. Kennedy, residing at Forth Place in Lossiemouth, appeared before Inverness Sheriff Court to face charges related to his conduct involving a teenage girl.

According to court records, Kennedy pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl inside a vehicle during the month of December 2023. The assault was described as a sexual act committed in a car, which has now led to his conviction. In addition to this, Kennedy also admitted to committing another sexual assault against the same girl within the same timeframe, further compounding the severity of his actions.

Beyond the sexual offenses, Kennedy was found guilty of attempting to interfere with the ongoing criminal proceedings. He engaged in actions aimed at intimidating or influencing the victim and the investigation by contacting her during the legal process. This included sending threatening messages, which added a layer of intimidation and harassment to his criminal behavior. Notably, Kennedy also sent a disturbing video of himself holding a knife to his own throat, in which he expressed suicidal intentions, further demonstrating his troubling state of mind and his attempt to manipulate or threaten the victim and authorities.

Furthermore, Kennedy's misconduct extended to threatening and abusive behavior towards other individuals. He was convicted of shouting and swearing at two women, accompanied by making derogatory remarks, which contributed to his overall pattern of threatening conduct.

Judge Ian Cruickshank presided over the case and sentenced Kennedy to 18 months in prison. The court also mandated that Kennedy register as a sex offender for a period of seven years, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions related to his criminal record.
