DOMINIC VASS CHORLEY PERVERT SPARED JAIL IN CHILD SEX OFFENCES CASE
In a case that has shocked the local community of Chorley, Dominic Anton Vass, a 24-year-old man from Lighthurst Lane, was found guilty of engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct involving two young children.The incidents, which took place on July 17 of the previous year, involved two separate 12-year-old victims and led to a court hearing at Preston Magistrates’ Court.
During the proceedings, Vass admitted to two charges related to his conduct towards the minors.
The court was informed that his actions were particularly serious because they involved two different victims, which the magistrates considered an aggravating factor.
As a result, the bench decided on a sentence that, while lenient, still carried significant consequences.
Vass was sentenced to a 36-week jail term, but this sentence was suspended for two years, meaning he would not serve time in prison unless he committed another offence within that period.
In addition to the suspended sentence, the magistrates ordered Vass to complete 60 hours of unpaid community work.
He was also required to pay a victim surcharge of £115 and cover £85 in prosecution costs.
Furthermore, the court mandated that Vass sign the Sex Offender’s Register for a period of ten years, a measure designed to monitor and manage his potential risk to the community.
To support his rehabilitation, he was also subjected to a mandatory activity requirement aimed at addressing his conduct and preventing future offences.
These legal measures reflect the seriousness with which the court viewed the offences, while also considering the circumstances and the defendant’s background.
The case has left many in Chorley concerned about the safety of children and the importance of vigilant community and legal responses to such grave allegations.
