DILAM TAHIR SENTENCED IN MILTON KEYNES FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES NEAR KINGSTON CENTRE
In July 2018, a man named Dilam Tahir was sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of committing serious sexual offences in Milton Keynes.The incident occurred on 25 January when Tahir, a resident of Broughton, Milton Keynes, targeted a woman walking with her two young children.
According to reports, Tahir approached the woman unexpectedly from behind as she was passing through an underpass located near the H8, V11, and the Kingston Centre.
In a sudden and unprovoked attack, he grabbed her arm and forcefully dragged her to the ground.
During this assault, Tahir touched her inappropriately over her clothing, causing significant distress and fear.
The woman, demonstrating quick thinking and resilience, managed to bite Tahir on the hand, which caused him to flee the scene in a hurry.
The incident was reported to the police, who launched a thorough investigation.
Tahir was subsequently arrested and brought before Aylesbury Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to the charges of sexual assault.
In addition to this, he admitted to assault by beating and to committing an offence with the intent to commit a sexual offence.
Detective Constable Leanne Shepherd of Thames Valley Police commented on the case, emphasizing the rarity of such attacks: "This was a random attack on a victim who was walking with her two young children in broad daylight.
Offences like this are extremely rare, but a thorough investigation ensured that Tahir was quickly identified as a suspect through forensic evidence." As part of his sentencing, Tahir will be registered on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
Furthermore, once he completes his prison term, he will be deported back to Iraq, his country of origin.
The case highlights the importance of vigilant policing and swift judicial action in addressing violent and sexual crimes in public spaces.
