DELROY MAY FROM MILTON KEYNES SENTENCED FOR RAPE AND VIOLENCE AT GLEBE FARM

A man identified as Delroy May, aged 58 and residing on Bel Air Grove in Milton Keynes, has been formally sentenced to a lengthy prison term following his conviction on multiple serious charges, including rape, threats to kill, and causing actual bodily harm. The case drew significant attention from the local community and law enforcement authorities after a series of disturbing incidents that culminated in his arrest and subsequent trial.

May’s trial concluded on February 4 at Aylesbury Crown Court, where a jury unanimously found him guilty of the charges brought against him. The court heard that May had committed a heinous assault, which involved not only sexual violence but also physical threats and acts of strangulation. Additionally, he was found responsible for attacking two emergency personnel during the course of his apprehension. The severity of his actions prompted the court to impose a substantial sentence, and on February 14, May was handed a ten-year prison term. Furthermore, he was designated as a lifelong sex offender and was issued a permanent restraining order to prevent any contact with his victim.

The incident that led to May’s arrest occurred in the early hours of July 22, 2024. At approximately 3:25 AM, police received a distress call from a member of the public who had been informed by a woman in her forties that she had been raped at Glebe Farm. The victim sustained visible injuries to her face and neck, which necessitated hospital treatment. The police responded swiftly, and May was detained shortly thereafter. During his time in custody, he assaulted two police officers, further complicating his legal situation.

May was formally charged and remanded in custody on July 23, 2024. Despite entering a plea of not guilty during his trial, the jury’s unanimous verdict was one of guilt on all counts. Detective Sergeant Lucy Jarrett of Milton Keynes CID expressed her thoughts on the case, stating, “Delroy May is a malicious individual who committed abhorrent offences against his victim in this case. I would like to praise the victim for her incredible courage throughout the investigation and trial. Thames Valley Police are committed to bringing offenders who commit violence against women and girls to justice.”

Sergeant Jarrett also emphasized the police’s stance on violence against law enforcement officers, noting that May’s assault on police personnel would not be tolerated. She concluded by expressing hope that the conviction and sentence would provide some measure of solace for the victim, encouraging her to move forward with her life and find some peace after such a traumatic ordeal.
