WALSALL MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR CAR PARK RAPE
A Walsall man named Deepak Sehdev has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison for raping a woman in a car park located in the Black Country area.Sehdev, aged 30 and residing on Gorway Road, was convicted of rape and sexual assault after a five-day trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court on December 18.
The incident occurred on August 13, 2008, when the victim, a 20-year-old woman, met Sehdev after a night out.
Sehdev then picked her up and drove her to the car park of Coseley Working Men's Club on Ivyhouse Lane, where he committed the offenses.
Detective Constable Darren Brown from Sedgley CID led the investigation and welcomed the sentence, stating: 'To see this man given a custodial sentence is extremely satisfying for both his victim, and those of us who have investigated the case.
