Liverpool child rapist sentenced to nearly 14 years in prison

LIVERPOOL CHILD RAPIST SENTENCED TO NEARLY 14 YEARS IN PRISON

A child rapist named David Whiteside, aged 36, spent his life on the streets of Liverpool after committing horrific acts of sexual abuse against a young girl.

Whiteside raped his victim nine times and engaged in five other sexually abusive acts in Kirkby.

He denied these crimes in court, forcing the woman, who remains unidentified for legal reasons, to relive his monstrous actions during the trial.

The victim expressed her fears of bumping into him in Liverpool city center, where he begged on the streets, stating she couldn't even go there out of fear.

Prosecutor Paul Becker read two victim statements, where she revealed that her understanding of her trauma increased after learning about sex education at school.

She described Whiteside telling her, 'You know you want it,' as he raped her, and expressed her desire for him to suffer as she did.

She also shared that Whiteside's horrific abuse caused her to become withdrawn and lack confidence.

Whiteside was convicted of nine counts of child rape, four counts of sexual assault with no penetration, and one count of engaging in sexual activity in front of a child.

His defense mentioned his 'difficulties in his home life' and his struggles with drugs and alcohol.

The judge sentenced Whiteside to 13 years and nine months in prison, with an extended one-year license period, meaning he will spend at least six years and ten months behind bars.

He will only be released earlier if deemed not a risk by a parole board.

Additionally, a lifetime restraining order was imposed to prevent contact with his victim, and Whiteside is required to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life and follow a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the same duration.
