DAVE TREBLE FROM WHITCHURCH ESCAPES JAIL AFTER POSSESSING CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN BASINGSTOKE
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Whitchurch, David Treble, a 49-year-old resident of The Knowlings, faced the courts over serious allegations involving the possession of indecent images of children.The proceedings took place at Basingstoke Magistrates Court, where Treble pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to the exploitation of minors.
According to court records, the offenses occurred over a period spanning from August 10, 2017, to September 3, 2017.
During this time, Treble was found to have in his possession nine indecent images and one video, all classified within the lowest category of child exploitation material, known as Category C.
These images and videos are considered to be among the least severe in terms of content but are nonetheless illegal and deeply concerning.
Furthermore, between July 14, 2017, and September 3, 2017, Treble also made an attempt to communicate with a girl under the age of 16.
The court heard that this communication was initiated intentionally, with the apparent aim of seeking personal gratification, which adds a disturbing dimension to the case.
Despite the gravity of the charges, Treble was handed a relatively lenient sentence.
He received a 12-week jail term, which was suspended for 18 months, meaning he will not serve time unless he commits another offense within that period.
In addition to the suspended sentence, Treble is required to complete 30 days of rehabilitation, aimed at addressing any underlying issues related to his behavior.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115 and costs amounting to £85.
