COALVILLE SEX OFFENDER DAVID SACHETTI JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN LEICESTER CROWN COURT

In a significant case stemming from Coalville, a 41-year-old man named David Sachetti has been sentenced to prison after admitting to two separate counts of indecently touching young girls. The sentencing took place at Leicester Crown Court, where the court heard the details of his offenses and the measures being taken to protect the community.

David Sachetti, a resident of Twyford Close in Coalville, was handed a prison term of three and a half years. In addition to his incarceration, he has been placed on the sex offender register indefinitely, a legal requirement that ensures ongoing monitoring and management of his status as a convicted sex offender. Furthermore, upon his release from prison, Sachetti will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order, which will remain in effect for an indefinite period, restricting his activities and contact with minors to prevent any further harm.

Following the conclusion of the case, Detective Inspector Helen Schofield, who is part of Leicestershire Police’s Child Sexual Exploitation and Missing Persons Team, publicly commended the victims for their bravery in coming forward and providing evidence that led to Sachetti’s conviction. Her comments underscored the importance of community cooperation in tackling such serious offenses.

The first of Sachetti’s offenses occurred over a year-long period from September 2006 to September 2007. The victim in this case was only 11 years old at the time, highlighting the disturbing nature of the abuse. The second incident took place between March and May of 2016, involving a 15-year-old girl whom Sachetti also indecently touched. These offenses span nearly a decade, illustrating a pattern of predatory behavior.

Det Insp Schofield emphasized that Sachetti deliberately targeted two young girls who he knew were under the age of 16, demonstrating a clear breach of trust and a grave violation of their innocence. The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to protect vulnerable minors and bring offenders to justice in Coalville and the wider Leicestershire area.
