SENTENCE DEFERRED FOR THURSO MAN AFTER GUILTY PLEA TO BREACH OF DOMESTIC ABUSE ORDER AT SQUASH CLUB
A woman was scared when her ex-partner, David Richard Lloyd, approached her at Thurso boating pond in defiance of a domestic abuse interdict.
The woman was with a group of adults and children at a picnic bench near Thurso Squash Club when she saw Lloyd’s car come along the adjoining Millbank Road.
Fiscal depute Grant McLennan told Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday that the woman put her hands over her face in the hope he would not recognise her.
Others in the group sensed the panic in her voice.
“She was very nervous,” said the fiscal.
Lloyd’s car stopped abruptly and came over to speak with his ex.
After a brief exchange, the 51-year-old returned to his car and drove off.
Lloyd, of Post Office House, Thurso, pleaded guilty to breaching the interdict and placing his ex in a state of fear and alarm.
Sheriff Neil Wilson deferred sentence until February 18 for a criminal justice social work report.
