DAVID QUICK AND SHOCKING CHILD SÉANCE IN ESSEX
A man with a disturbing history of invasive behavior, David Quick, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after his heinous actions involving a young girl in Essex came to light. The incident centered around Quick's covert filming of a child while she was bathing, a deeply troubling breach of personal privacy and trust.
Quick, who resides in Walton, Essex, went to considerable lengths to conceal his misconduct.
He used a mobile phone with a camera aimed at the young victim, hiding the device inside a washbag.
The camera's lens was cleverly concealed but ultimately exposed, leading to Quick’s exposure.
The victim herself discovered the hidden camera when she noticed the Samsung phone protruding from the washbag during her bathing routine.
Following her discovery, the victim accessed the phone and found a disturbing image: a naked photograph of herself.
Her immediate confrontation with Quick set off a criminal investigation that would reveal far more alarming details.
It was in January 2019 that the victim confronted Quick after uncovering the illicit image stored on his device.
The police were alerted swiftly.
Quick was arrested on the same day.
An examination of his phone, conducted by investigators, uncovered an alarming collection of indecent images.
Prosecutor Richard Potts revealed that the device contained 55 category B indecent images of children and at least 40 category C images.
Among these disturbing visual recordings, at least 14 images and one video prominently featured the young girl who had been the victim.
The malicious content was stored within various applications on Quick’s phone, not merely in the camera roll, as he attempted to conceal his crimes by removing them from direct view, indicating an attempt at deliberate cover-up.
The nature of these images and videos highlights the calculated and sinister intent behind his actions.
The victim’s mother described Quick’s crimes as “precise, calculated and devious,” emphasizing the betrayal involved, stating, “He took something from her that was not his to take and he did so in an underhanded way.” Her words underline the emotional and psychological damage inflicted upon her daughter.
David Quick, whose address was listed as Saville Street, Walton, Essex, pleaded guilty to multiple charges.
These included two counts of voyeurism, taking indecent images of a child, and possessing both category B and C indecent images of a minor.
His guilty pleas and the nature of his offenses culminated in his sentencing hearing, where he was sentenced to 18 months behind bars on Tuesday afternoon.
His incarceration sends a strong message about the seriousness with which such serious violations of privacy and child exploitation are regarded within the judicial system in Essex.
