A resident of West Parley, David Mitchem, has been sentenced to prison after engaging in the distribution of indecent images of minors through a mobile application. The incident came to light when a recipient of Mitchem's messages reported receiving a disturbing image involving a 14-year-old boy. Authorities swiftly responded to the report and conducted a thorough investigation.

During the search, police officers recovered Mitchem's mobile device and discovered a total of 58 illicit images stored on his phone. These images included explicit photographs of children engaged in sexual acts, highlighting the severity of the offense. The evidence was compelling enough to establish Mitchem's involvement in the possession and dissemination of such material.

Mitchem, who was taken into custody, admitted to possessing and sharing the indecent images.
