MILTON KEYNES FIREFIGHTER DAVID MINISTER CAUGHT IN SHOCKING BATHROOM SPY CAM SCANDAL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Milton Keynes, a former firefighter named David Minister has been sentenced to prison after a series of heinous acts involving covert surveillance and possession of indecent images of children.The incident came to light when three lodgers, including two women and a 13-year-old girl, discovered a hidden camera installed in their bathroom, which they initially mistook for a simple towel hook.
Minister, who was their landlord, had secretly fixed the device in the bathroom used by the lodgers.
The older woman, whose exact age remains undisclosed, believed the object was merely a hook and attempted to hang a towel on it.
It was only after about a week that she noticed the device had moved from its initial position at door height to a higher spot on the wall, where towels were hung.
This movement raised suspicion, but it was not until the 18-year-old lodger was washing her hair that the full extent of Minister’s disturbing actions was uncovered.
During her routine bathroom activity, the young woman looked up at what she thought was a hook, only to realize it was a camera with an on-off switch and an SD card inside.
Upon inserting the card into her phone, she discovered images captured by the device, which included footage of all three victims using the bathroom, as well as a disturbing image of the 18-year-old girl on the toilet.
Recognizing the seriousness of what she had found, she took the SD card to Milton Keynes police station and reported her discovery.
Authorities swiftly arrested Minister, who subsequently confessed to voyeurism.
A police search of his computer and laptop revealed a collection of indecent images of children, including 140 images classified as Category A (the most severe), 163 images in Category B, and 236 in Category C.
Additionally, two extreme pornographic videos were recovered from his devices.
The police also found a total of 539 images, but for reasons not fully explained in court, Minister was only charged in relation to one image from each category.
At Aylesbury Crown Court, Minister faced multiple charges.
He admitted to one count of voyeurism, two counts of making indecent images of a child, and one count of possessing indecent images of a child.
He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, with the sentences for voyeurism and possession to run consecutively.
Furthermore, he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £140.
The judge, Catherine Tulk, emphasized the seriousness of the offenses, stating that voyeurism and possession of indecent images, while related, are fundamentally different crimes.
She highlighted that the possession of such images is not victimless, as each image represents a real victim.
Judge Tulk also pointed out that Minister’s actions demonstrated premeditation, noting that he had deliberately moved the camera to different positions within the bathroom in an attempt to obtain better footage.
This indicated a calculated and repeated pattern of offending, rather than a momentary lapse.
As part of his sentence, Minister was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years and was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the same duration.
Minister, who resides in Loughton, Milton Keynes, admitted all charges on September 18 at the court.
The case has raised serious concerns about privacy violations and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals, prompting calls for increased vigilance and stricter enforcement of laws protecting against such invasive crimes.
