PENARTH MAN SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT
A man from Penarth has received a sentence of six and a half years following convictions for sexual assault against a teenage girl.The offence took place in 2005, when the victim was 17 years old.
During the incident, David King, aged 60, placed his hand inside her trousers and covered her mouth to prevent her from crying out.
The girl responded by biting his hand to escape.
The assault was only brought to police attention in 2020.
In April, Mr.
King was found guilty of the charges at Cardiff Crown Court and was detained while awaiting sentencing.
The sentence was handed down at Merthyr Crown Court, with Mr.
King expected to spend approximately half of the period in prison, with the rest to be served under community supervision.
