TRIO OF DOMESTIC ABUSERS PUNISHED AT ELGIN SHERIFF COURT
Gow, 35, had returned home at about 2am on September 7 earlier this year before becoming abusive towards his wife.
“On arrival at the locus, the accused began making various remarks surrounding the witness’s ex-partner and father of her three children, claiming that she was being unfaithful to [him] with her ex-partner,” fiscal depute Anna Boyle told the court.
He would go on to refer to the woman as “a slapper” and other degrading terms, prompting her to call the police.
They would find him unclothed in the hall.
When Gow was being arrested, Ms Boyle said he resisted by refusing to release his arm.
Solicitor Megan Lee, representing Dow, of Emslie Court in Lhanbryde, said he was aware the court would take a “dim view” of his offences.
“I submit he’s not minimised his conduct in any way,” she said.
“[He] would very much like to take that opportunity to finally address his difficulties with alcohol.” In addition to 135 hours of unpaid work, which he was given nine months to complete, Dow was ordered by Sheriff Olga Pasportnikov to attend the Choose to Change programme for domestic abusers over the next year and a half.
