LIVERPOOL MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL DOMESTIC ASSAULT
A man who beat a woman so severely that she suffered broken bones and a bleed on the brain has been sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison.David Ellis, age 50, from Liverpool, pleaded guilty to a section 18 domestic assault of a 27-year-old woman, resulting in multiple serious injuries.
The court sentenced Ellis to nine years and nine months in prison on Wednesday.
Detective Inspector Tracey Martin highlighted that the sentence sends a "strong message" of zero tolerance towards abuse.
Merseyside Police located the woman on 26 February, and Det Insp Martin expressed her admiration for her bravery, stating she hopes her courage will inspire other victims to seek help.
The police emphasized that support and assistance are available for individuals affected by domestic abuse.
