MAN WHO HIT EX-PARTNER IN FACE WITH MOTORCYCLE HELMET JAILED

A man who assaulted his former partner by striking her with a motorcycle helmet as she was picking up her young daughter from school has been given a prison sentence.

David Carson, residing on Craignish Crescent in Dundonald, appeared before Laganside Crown Court on December 15 and received his sentence for a domestic abuse-related attack that occurred in May 2024.

The 48-year-old was sentenced to four years in total, with an initial two years to be served in prison and the remaining two years on supervised release.

Additionally, a four-year restraining order was issued against him.
