RENTON PHARMACIST PLEADS GUILTY TO SENDING SEXUAL MESSAGES TO UNDERCOVER COP
A pharmacist has pleaded guilty to sending sexual messages to an undercover cop he believed was a 12-year-old girl.Darryn Kilpatrick appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on September 2 and admitted sending messages and images to the officer.
The 30-year-old first offender engaged in conversations on the KIK mobile app starting March 9, with a decoy girl he thought was 12.
During the exchanges, Kilpatrick claimed he was a pharmacist and mentioned that he liked to travel.
The decoy said she was at a gymnastics competition in Newcastle.
Their chat turned sexual as Kilpatrick made comments such as 'bouncing on top of me.' The officer sent a pre-approved image of a young girl, and Kilpatrick responded by sending his own image and later a sexually suggestive image of his crotch, asking, 'Any chance of seeing your bum today?' He continued to pursue the conversation, sending a picture of an adult male penis with a vagina, claiming it was him and an ex-partner.
He then asked for pictures of her in her gymnastics outfit, implying that her clothing would end up on the bedroom floor.
The communication was terminated, and his number was tracked down.
Kilpatrick pleaded guilty to attempting to cause a person he believed to be a child to view sexual images between March 9 and April 10, 2024.
He also admitted to sending sexual messages, discussing sexual acts, repeatedly requesting images, and trying to communicate indecently with a child.
Sheriff David Clapham deferred sentencing until September 30 for reports to be prepared, but he ordered Kilpatrick to be placed on the sex offenders register in the meantime.
