DARREN ROSE SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC SEXUAL ATTACK ON THREE-YEAR-OLD IN ABERTILLERY

In a chilling case that has shocked the community of Abertillery, South Wales, Darren Rose, aged 21, was sentenced to an indefinite prison term following his conviction for a brutal sexual assault involving a three-year-old girl. Rose, a resident of Duke Street in Abertillery, was apprehended by police after DNA evidence linked him to the assault. The crucial evidence came from a sample taken from under the fingernails of a woman who had fought off Rose the night before the attack on the young girl. The woman, in her 30s, had scratched Rose’s face during her struggle, and her DNA was subsequently matched to cells found under her nails, which proved pivotal in the case.

The court heard that Rose had initially denied involvement in the assault but was later identified through DNA analysis. Prosecutor David Webster explained that the DNA recovered from the woman’s fingernails matched the sample taken from Rose, confirming his presence at the scene of the assault on New Year’s Eve. During the proceedings, Rose pleaded guilty to two charges: sexual assault on the woman and assault by penetration of the young girl.
