DOMESTIC ABUSER DARREN LYNN JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND BITING PARTNER'S FOOT
A man named Darren Lynn was jailed for his involvement in a series of domestic abuse incidents during a turbulent relationship.According to court reports, Lynn invited his partner to his home on May 19, despite being under an electronically-monitored curfew imposed due to a prior conviction.
During the visit, the partner was subjected to argumentative behavior, with Lynn accusing her of infidelity and demanding she name her ex-boyfriend.
The situation escalated when Lynn grabbed her hair and pulled her off the sofa while making abusive comments.
When another man intervened, Lynn moved to the bedroom where he physically assaulted his partner by grabbing her leg and biting the side of her foot, despite being told to leave her alone.
The partner managed to free herself, call a taxi, and attempted to leave, but Lynn insisted on accompanying her, breaching his curfew restrictions.
After the taxi dropped them off, Lynn became aggressive again, punching her in the face as she exited the vehicle, causing bleeding, and stealing her handbag.
Fearing Lynn might take her belongings, she concealed her keys, bank card, and phone in her clothing and was driven to the police station to report the assault.
Lynn remained at large for five weeks before contacting the police himself, leading to his arrest, and has been in custody since.
He pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm and assault by beating.
The court sentenced him to 12 months in prison and imposed a restraining order forbidding him from contacting his ex-partner until further notice.
The judge commented on Lynn's pattern of domestic violence, describing the relationship as "tempestuous" and "litany of offences."
