DARREN JEFFREY SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS FOR CHILD RAPES IN CHESTERFIELD AND CALOW

In a recent court ruling, Darren Jeffrey, a 36-year-old man from Central Drive, Calow, north Derbyshire, was sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 16 years for a series of heinous crimes involving two young girls.

The offences, which included two counts of rape, eight sexual assaults, and four counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, were committed over a span of several years in Chesterfield between 2006 and 2010.

During the proceedings at Derby Crown Court, it was revealed that Jeffrey’s victims were under the age of 13 at the time of the abuse.

The court heard detailed accounts of how Jeffrey exploited the trust placed in him by the young girls, taking advantage of their innocence and vulnerability.

His actions have left a lasting impact on the victims, and the severity of his crimes was underscored by the length of his sentence.

In addition to his prison term, Jeffrey has been placed on the sex offenders register for life, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities post-release.

Furthermore, he has been disqualified from working with children, a restriction aimed at preventing any future harm to minors.

Detective Constable Chris Yapp, who led the investigation into Jeffrey’s crimes, expressed his condemnation of the offender’s actions.

He stated, “These girls knew and trusted Jeffrey and he took advantage of them and abused that trust.

The sentence reflects the seriousness of his crimes.” The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect vulnerable children and ensure that offenders are held accountable for their actions.
