ELGIN MAN JAILED FOR VIOLENT AND CONTROLLING ABUSE AGAINST PARTNER
A man from Moray, Danny Douglass, was convicted of a prolonged campaign of violence and abuse against his partner, which lasted nearly two years.The offences took place at a residence on Anderson Drive in Elgin, between March 1, 2021, and February 23, 2023.
Despite maintaining his innocence, Douglass was sentenced to 30 months in prison, with the sentence backdated to when he was remanded in custody on March 27.
Furthermore, a non-harassment order for ten years was imposed to protect the victim and her family.
Post-release, he will be under social supervision for a year.
The jury specifically found him guilty of repeatedly throttling his partner, at one point almost causing her to lose consciousness.
