KENT COUNTY COUNCILLOR JAILED FOR CONTROLLING BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS WIFE
A county councillor from Kent has been sentenced to a year in prison for years of controlling and coercive conduct towards his spouse.Daniel Taylor, aged 35 and from Margate, received his sentence at Margate Magistrates’ Court today after being found guilty of engaging in controlling behavior.
He faced charges including threatening to kill his wife on June 1 and sending her an offensive, indecent, or menacing message on the same day.
Taylor was among 57 candidates from the Reform party to secure a seat on Kent County Council when they gained control of the authority on May 1.
Following the removal of party whip, he has been serving as an independent councillor representing Cliftonville.
