HARWICH MAN JAILED FOR RAPE OF TEENAGE GIRL IN CLACTON
A vile sex offender, Daniel Stott, aged 27, from Coke Street, Harwich, was sentenced to five years in prison after he admitted to raping a teenage girl in the Boxted Avenue area of Clacton in November 2019.
Following a swift response from Essex Police, Stott was arrested the day after the attack and charged.
He appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 5 and pleaded guilty to two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault by penetration.
Additionally, he admitted possessing cannabis.
He was sentenced to five years in prison, and upon release, he will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Detective Constable Reuben Brame, who led the investigation, stated, 'These were horrendous offences and have had a lasting impact on the young woman he attacked.' He added, 'I am pleased Stott has pleaded guilty to save her the further trauma of having to give evidence in court.
She has shown great bravery in coming forward and speaking about what happened on that terrible day.' Brame further emphasized that Stott would be monitored continuously after his release, encouraging victims of sexual offenses to come forward and report such crimes.
