DANIEL LAMBERT FROM TOTTENHAM SENTENCED TO 19 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES AT RISLEY RIDING STABLES
In a landmark case that has spanned over two decades, Daniel Lambert, a 61-year-old former riding school manager from Tottenham, has been sentenced to 19 years in prison for a series of heinous sexual offences committed against eight young girls.Lambert's crimes were carried out during his tenure at the Risley Riding Stables located on Bedwell Road, where he exploited his position of authority to lure vulnerable children into situations of abuse.
It was in January 2005 that police officers in Hornsey received a report alleging historical sexual assault involving Lambert.
This initial complaint was later linked to a previous allegation made against him in 2000, prompting a comprehensive investigation by Haringey’s Child Abuse Investigation Team.
As the inquiry progressed, seven additional victims came forward, each recounting disturbing accounts of sexual abuse allegedly perpetrated by Lambert between the years 1983 and 1993.
All the victims, who were between the ages of nine and 14 at the time, described incidents that took place at the Risley Riding Stables, a location where Lambert was trusted by many families in the community.
Lambert appeared before Wood Green Crown Court to face multiple serious charges.
These included four counts of rape of a female child under 16, one count of attempted rape of a female child under 13, three counts of gross indecency with a female child, and thirteen counts of indecent assault of a female child under 13.
The court proceedings revealed the extent of the allegations, which painted a disturbing picture of exploitation and abuse over a decade.
Detective Constable Paula Ray, who led the investigation on behalf of the Metropolitan Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Command, emphasized the significance of the case.
She stated, “This is an historic case going back over twenty years.
The verdict and the sentence are a reflection of the courage of the eight women who have given evidence.
They have spoken out for themselves and for all the other possible victims who did not wish to be involved in the trial for varied reasons.” She further added, “We take all allegations of rape and sexual assault extremely seriously regardless of how long ago the offences occurred.
