DANIEL COOPER FROM CHURCH WARSOP ADMITS TO SEXUAL ACTIVITY WITH 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
In a significant development at Nottingham Crown Court, Daniel Cooper, aged 20, from Birch Street in Church Warsop, Nottinghamshire, has confessed to engaging in sexual activities with a girl who was only 13 years old at the time of the offenses.The admission came on the very first day of his trial, when Cooper changed his plea to admit to two separate offences that took place in August 2016.
During the court proceedings, it was clearly established that Cooper was fully aware of the girl’s age and understood that she was below the age of legal sexual consent when he committed these acts.
Despite this knowledge, he proceeded with the activities, which has led to serious legal consequences.
Following his admission, Cooper was granted bail but is scheduled to be sentenced on the 26th of January.
As part of the legal process, he has been ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register immediately, a measure that underscores the severity of his actions and the ongoing efforts to monitor individuals convicted of such offences.
Detective Constable Stuart Barson, representing Nottinghamshire Police, commented on the case, stating that Cooper “took advantage of a vulnerable young girl.” He also praised the victim for her remarkable bravery in coming forward and reporting the incident, which played a crucial role in bringing the case to court and ensuring that justice is pursued.
