BIRKENHEAD MAN JAILED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND ASSAULTING TWO WOMEN
Damien Rich, aged 28 and residing on Conway Street in Birkenhead, was found guilty of numerous acts of violence and abuse.He fractured his girlfriend’s eye socket and cheekbone and later assaulted her by throwing paint over her.
While on bail for a burglary charge, he started a relationship with another woman, referred to as Woman B, and physically attacked her, delivering a punch that made her see stars and caused her face to lose sensation.
She sustained depressed fractures in her eye socket and the arch of her cheekbone.
Rich was taken into custody but remained silent during police interviews.
Additionally, he sent threatening messages and committed further acts of violence, including splashing paint on Woman B.
He admitted to charges of burglary with intent to damage, assault causing actual bodily harm, harassment, battery, and criminal damage.
The court sentenced him to three years and nine months in prison and issued an indefinite restraining order to safeguard Woman B.
Rich has a criminal history with 20 previous convictions spanning 28 offenses, such as wounding, attempted robbery, possession of an offensive weapon, and assaulting emergency personnel.
The judge described him as a violent and cowardly bully with an appalling attitude, noting that his offenses were worsened by their domestic abuse context.
