BEDWORTH PAEDOPHILE DALE BURTON REPEATED SEXUALLY ASSAULTED VERY YOUNG SCHOOL CHILD HANDED A SUSPENDED SENTENCE
A man has been found guilty of committing multiple sexual offences against a child, following a trial at Leicester Crown Court on 4 June 2025.Dale Jefferson Burton, from Hinckley was convicted on two counts of sexual activity with a child under the age of 13, contrary to section 25(1) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
This section of the Act criminalises sexual touching between a person over 16 and a child under 13, recognising the child’s legal incapacity to consent and the serious nature of such offences.
The prosecution told the court that Burton engaged in sexual activity with the victim on more than one occasion.
The jury, after hearing detailed testimony and evidence gathered by specialist officers, returned unanimous guilty verdicts on both counts.
For the first offence, Burton was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment.
For the second, he was given 20 months.
The judge ordered that the custodial terms run concurrently, with the longer term of 20 months to apply.
However, this sentence was suspended for a period of two years, meaning Burton will not serve time in prison immediately but will be subject to strict conditions, and will have to serve the full term if he breaches them or commits another offence during that period.
In addition to the suspended prison sentence, Burton was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for 10 years, restricting his contact with children and controlling his use of internet-enabled devices.
He will also be placed on the Sex Offender Register for the same period, requiring him to notify police of his address, travel plans, and any changes to his personal circumstances.
The judge described the offences as a serious and sustained breach of trust, telling Burton that his actions had caused lasting emotional harm to the victim and would have lifelong consequences.

Dale pleaded guilty and faces sentencing in November.

The Judge emphasised the seriousness of Mr burtons actions & sentenced him to 30 months imprisonment.
