KINROSS BUSINESSMAN SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT OF TEENAGER
A 54-year-old married businessman who sexually assaulted a teenager almost 40 years his junior with a hand massager had his name added to the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years on Wednesday.He admitted placing a massager - or “similar instrument” - on the female’s neck, touching her on the body and turning her round on September 23, 2019.
The court heard that the teen and Sutherland were on their own at the time of the incident.
Solicitor Paul Ralph said a background report on Sutherland - a first offender - detailed the “realisation of what he had done.” Sheriff Lindsay Foulis observed: “What you can’t ignore is there is a considerable age difference between the accused and the complainer.
They are also alone in the house and in the bedroom.” He offered to pay the fine within a month.
