SCOTTISH OFFENDER CRAIG DODDS SENTENCED FOR MULTIPLE RAPES AND ABUSE
A depraved offender named Craig Dodds has been convicted and sentenced for multiple severe sexual offenses. He was found guilty of raping two women in different incidents and locations.
One victim, who lived with Dodds in West Lothian, was subjected to horrific repeated sexual assaults "several times a week" between April 2020 and April 2022, including scenarios where she was asleep or unconscious, making her particularly vulnerable.
During this period, Dodds slapped the woman on her body, issued threats of violence, and engaged in self-harm and wall punches while blaming his actions on her.
Despite her attempts to escape, Dodds continued to assault her, and on one occasion, she woke to find him having sexual intercourse with her, prompting her to lock herself in the bathroom and sleep on the sofa.
Additionally, he exhibited abusive behavior such as slamming doors, punching walls, verbally abusing her, and shouting at her and a child.
The second victim was assaulted in Falkirk in 2018, where Dodds drove her home after a night out, and she woke to find him having sex with her in her bed despite her protests.
The court sentenced him to seven years and six months imprisonment, backdated to May 15, 2025, and placed him on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
A non-harassment order was also issued, preventing contact with both victims.
The judge highlighted the psychological impact on the victims and considered Dodds's youth and immaturity at the time of offenses, which moderated his sentence.
The judge also noted the importance of rehabilitation and his responsibilities as a father, but emphasized that the sentence could have been longer without these factors.
