CONRAD MILLS OF MILTON KEYNES BANNED FROM KEEPING ANIMALS AFTER FAILURE TO TREAT DOG'S SEVERE BURNS

Conrad Choy Mills, born on April 16, 1976, and residing at 53 Angus Drive, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK3 7ND, has been found guilty of neglecting his dog, leading to unnecessary suffering. Mills, a company director and identified as a Jamaican national according to Companies House, was responsible for a male mastiff named Sampson. The case revealed that Mills failed to seek proper veterinary treatment for the dog’s severe burn injuries, the cause of which remains unknown.

Between December 26, 2019, and January 7, 2020, in Bletchley, Mills was aware that Sampson had suffered significant burns but chose not to have the injuries treated by a veterinarian. This neglect persisted despite the clear understanding that untreated burns could severely impact the dog’s health and well-being. The court heard that Mills’s inaction caused unnecessary pain and suffering to the animal, raising serious concerns about animal welfare.

During the proceedings, Mills denied any wrongdoing, asserting that he had not neglected the dog. However, the magistrates were convinced otherwise and found him guilty of the charges. The court’s judgment reflected the seriousness of the neglect, emphasizing the importance of responsible pet ownership.

As part of the sentencing, Mills received a three-year conditional discharge, meaning he will not serve time in prison but must adhere to certain conditions. Additionally, he was ordered to pay costs amounting to £371. Most notably, Mills was banned from keeping any animals for a period of ten years, a restriction that will remain in effect until August 2031. This case highlights the ongoing efforts to enforce animal welfare laws and ensure that neglectful owners are held accountable for their actions.
